Moving away from the physicality of the human body, I wanted to depict the intangible essence of whats left behind, what was, before, I took some shots in a loft space in the out building attached to my home place. My Dad slept in this place as a child, this place is now unused, covered in cobwebs and dust, but a strong feeling of humanity hovers there. This is what I tried to capture in the photographs, my Dad was an athlete, and his shoes while discarded give a strong indication of him, the blackness behind the shoe, the newspaper clippings that he hung on the wall, where faces look out from behind cobwebs and dust from 1957.
