yea, xmas holidays here on friday

just sorting out final bits and pieces for my project, hoping everything comes together, so here goes nothing / everthing.........

At last the essay is handed in

Yes, it is done, my first essay ia am so proud, i cannot believe how much i have read, god, Freud was a sexist pig, now i can concentrate on  my project,  i am currently exploring mixed media pieces, really enjoying that, see pic uploaded.

my statement

MY STATEMENT

For Centuries Churches are at the centre of the Urban Environment extending their influence both politically and socially, and for this reason I chose St. John’s Church as my source in my project The Urban Environment.   Through photography and analytical drawings I got to know my source quite well, looking at the stone, its texture, colour studies and observing the lighting at different times of day.

From there I have utilised Photoshop to manipulate my photos and drawings, I like the way Photoshop can be used to compose an image in preparation for a painting.  At the moment I am experimenting with Casting, and have made a cast of part of a railing. 

My Aim is to move away from drawing, push my boundaries, think outside the box to see what I can create, I want to urbanise the church and develop my project through colour.

 

i like the idea of photography as a way to compose an image, i have been playing around with photography , rotating and adjusting hue and saturation as a means to develop my project along. i am interested in mixed media and i have met this wonderful lady ,brimming with enthusiasm , and hopefully i will be able to sign up for her classes .  yea

it is now reaching the end of the 7 weeks , i really need to access the situation of where i am going next, i have a view ideas that i will work on and see where it leads to.

had review this week , will receive feedback next week, ah well lets hope its not too traumatic, trying now to focus on where to go next , looking at colour, and atmosphere at moment , trying to create a mood.

when i first visited st johns church , i was overwhelmed by some of the inscriptions on the headstones ,one in particular, where one family had lost an eleven yr old son 2 weeks before xmas, and their other ten year old son died a week later, been a mother myself i can only envision the absolute agony of those people, i wanted to not only give a description of the structure of the church but also try to look into the past, the screaming faces are hence emulating some of the agony that was once present at st johns and in some ways is still present.
i used my daughters face as a starting point and from there i distorted that image of her face.

wednesday, so that means ccs, today we talked about museums, had first talk with mentor patricia. uploaded some project photos yesterday, moodle was a headache to get into today , a whole big mess with the password etc.  byeeeeeee for now
